Nice upswing continues

So far July has been a great month for me aside from getting sick the last few days. I've cashed out $4k this month already and see no signs of that slowing down. I have the mood to grind and focus in when I'm playing, which sometimes isn't always there. I wasn't too worried in June because I knew it would come back and things would be fine. I'm sticking to 2-tabling the $220 HUs and might start mixing in MTTs on Sundays and maybe some nights during the week.

Tonight a group of us went downtown to watch the fireworks and what not. There were about a thousand people and a lot of them were on this gigantic deck right on the river. Unfortunately I was driving and still don't feel up for drinking after feeling like shit this week anyway. Oh well, still was a lot of fun and I'm pretty pumped for this weekend.

Getting sick :(

July's still looking to be a good month for me pokerwise, but I am starting to feel sick. It really sucks being sick cuz there's a lot of stuff I want to do but just am lacking energy to have fun going anywhere. I'm really hoping to do some stuff for 4th of July the next couple days but my body needs to cooperate. With that, I am getting dead tired after playing only a couple tables so I don't even know how much more poker I'll get in til I feel better. My sleeps been all messed up the last few days which obviously isn't helping. I'm gonna try to force myself to sleep 10 hours tonight and hopefully get back in the swing of things. If I do feel better and go out for the 4th and stuff I'll try to post some pictures since I haven't kept up with that. Also, the BSOP is temporarily postponed until further notice. Tomorrow's a horrible night for a tournament and I'll get it rescheduled soon.

Good start to July

Just put away a good winning day to start off July... Made about $2200 today and cashed out $2k of it. Feeling very good about my game and am back in the swing of things with being on the grind. Really focused again on poker after taking some time off....

Pokerstars adds $10K HU Tourney

Today I saw that Pokerstars has added a weekly $10,000 buyin heads up tournament. Right now it's capped at 8 players and it starts with 200 Big blinds and 30 minute levels. I really look forward to watching this event and I think it will really favor the cash game players with this type of structure. Surprisingly, it filled pretty fast. I think they could raise the cap to 16 players and still fill it up probably. It'll be next Sunday at 4:15 EST and definitely worth checking out.

June Results/ First half of 2007 Summary

Well, June is done with and it was probably my worst month as a professional poker player. I could never get anything going, and really didn't have a good enough focus to be winning good money. I tilted some and took shots here and there and paid the price. Thankfully, I could 100% feel the last couple days things turning around and my mindsight being way different when playing. I am on track for a great 2007 and July will go great...

I'll add a few other things in this post too before I forget. The first BSOP event is THIS TUESDAY. It will be a NL event and be $10+$1. I expect to see big numbers so come out and try to win the 5th ever BSOP bracelet. The password is obvobv so spread the word and come out and play with Team Phenom.

On a separate note, we had a pretty crazy weekend. Last night a few of us went downtown and I was in very rare form, drinking shot after shot, and ended up spending the last hour with a new acquaintance I met that night :) Tonight we just hung out, watched fireworks, and went to a bar around here with a big group and I was too tired to really enjoy it that much. Me and LilOU left before close and hit up Denny's before calling it a night. I'm probably gonna sleep 12 hours tonight easily.

I have some pictures of the house I am gonna buy next year and will use it as motivation when I'm playing poker to try and put together strong, winning sessions. I think using an end goal as motivation makes you play 100x better at the tables...

June stats:
Net amount cashed out: $250

2007 Cash out total: $81,250.00
VPPs: 407,294
FPPs: 2,098,639

2007 BSOP announced

It's that time of the year again, and the BCM series of poker makes it's annual return. This year will consist of a series of events ranging of all different types of games culminating with the main event. The first event will be a NL event and will be sometime early next week. Check back for more updates regarding the BSOP. One nice bonus is that I will be doing a live broadcast through camtasia for all the events so we encourage all readers to play.

Getting it together, kinda

I've kinda made a few conclusions and am gonna use the rest of June to set myself up for a good July. Looking at June by itself looks ugly, but overall this year has been great poker-wise, so I am not gonna beat myself up over having a break-even month. Every poker player goes through ups and downs and if someone tells you otherwise they are being very naive. So far I've only netted a thunderous $250 profit in June but I'm oddly content with it. Instead of trying to run up what I have online I am gonna make a focused effort on grinding a bankroll smartly. Maybe it'll be kinda fun to grind it back up correctly in a weird way, who knows. Tonight I played a bunch of $50 sngs and actually had fun beating them up. I am gonna continue playing them til I have about $2k online and then get back to the $10os. This way I'll give myself a chance to get my game back together and get more confident again by beating up on inferior opponents. Hopefully it will get me back into a groove and I will be able to put together a few K in profit before June is said and done. I definitely have a strong motivation to succeed at the tables whereas a couple weeks ago my focus lied away from the tables. I think finding a balance is the key... Anyway, kinda rambling, but just wanted to update on where I stand. I have no shame dropping down til things get better and I have 20+ buyins to play at a level.

Not possible to run worse

But I'm fine with it. I am running completely horrible now and even when I sit down and really focus on bringing my A game which is more then enough to beat these mentally challenge $100 and $200 sit and go players, I can't overcome all the BS that I am facing. I know it's temporary and I'll be crushing again soon enough but I just have to patiently ride out this wave of total bullshit. Probably quitting for the night again and gonna keep making right decisions tomorrow when I play.
